Ashu woke up last night at 2:00 in the morning. My first thought was to be proud of her for waking up on her own to use the restroom. But upon finding her, she was simply washing her hands with lots of soap. I asked her if she used the potty all by herself. And she replied, “No, I needed to wash the germs off my hands.” She didn’t even need to go potty! Clearly, this behavior is a result of over obsessive parents who have encouraged constant cleanliness.
