Akshay participated in a karate competition in Myrtle Beach and won two second-place medals for form and weapons form. Akshay has been doing Tae Kwon Do for over two years now, and this weekend we got to see the result of his hard work. But instead of being able to add the usual cheesy, plastic trophy to our pile, participants were given Samurai Swords (a real sword, and very sharp might I add). Although I don’t feel safe enough to leave it in our display case, I suppose it is a nice collection to my kids’ other karate gear.
