We had a lovely 4th of July weekend. We went hiking to Pilot’s Mountain in Pinnacle, NC with friends and their family. The weather was a bit hot, and we got even hotter as ended up erroneously on a wrong trial: we thought we could handle the strenuous path as it seemed so easy going down. We failed to think about the torturous, long incline climb back up! Thank goodness for company and access to our phones for some good music. Our hard work was pleasantly rewarded with a picnic lunch waiting for us as one of the members could not hike with us. She instead manned the picnic table and had it ready upon our arrival. We ended the evening with a fabulous meal of homemade dosas and idlis and an evening swim for the kids. Just heavenly are days like this and pray we have more of them.
