Girl on Crutches
Strangely enough my kids have always wished for an injury or sprain which causes them to have a cast or crutches of some sort. They must want the attention other kids get, having their casts signed, all the friends coming up to express their thoughts and hear “how it happened.” I guess they did not realize that the attention also comes with a lot of pain that such injuries can cause and my daughter got to experience first-hand on just how much it hurts. She went to a friend’s birthday party at Sky High Sports and a very large teenager landed on her spraining her ankle. Luckily the mom of the birthday girl is a physician and immediately attended to Ashna. She looked at her injury tight away and even provided her a set of crutches and an ace bandage to heel the sprained ankle. Ashna wore crutches for days and I had to help her get around, take baths, help her to the restroom and aid her with the constraints of a sprain. We were at the wrong place at the wrong time to have gotten the injury...but with the right person at the right time to have had immediate help!
