Big Family Vacation

We, along with 5 other families, went on a vacation to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Our group consisted of 12 adults and 14 children and everywhere we went we were referred to as the “big family!” We relished being with each other’s company and were mesmerized by the beauty of Punta Cana and its people. The island is breathtaking, our resort was right on the beach and its size accommodated 10-15 restaurants. Our resort included fun trolleys to take us to our destination and an array of fauna and flora – we got to see peacocks and peahens, flamingos, ducks, an assortment of fish; as far as the flora, incredible flowers, palm trees, coconut trees, passion fruit trees and more.

The shopping mall was nearby and we got to partake in all the fun resort activities: catamaran boats, kayaking, swimming, and zip-lining and adventure courses. Decadent spa for a massage and nearby, we were able to try out the flying boat, and inflated boat contraption attached to wings and a motorized engine. One could see over the entire island coast and see sharks and dolphins in the water. We spent a day excursion on Sonoa Island, where the movie, “The Blue Lagoon” was filmed. It was as stunning as the scenes found in the movie and its natural beauty is indescribable. In the evening, we tried out the different restaurants and danced in the discotheque. Both adults and kids had a vacation of a lifetime!
