California Here We Come…

…Right back where we started from! After a much overdue time, we made it back to LA for a visit with friends and family. The driving factor of going was to celebrate my brother and sister-in-law’s baby shower. And it was a well-worth the trip to see my little brother in his new life, friends and surrounding! As the kids had no recollection of Los Angeles from when we lived there, we squeezed in some local tourist attractions and even managed in a quick trip to Las Vegas and Hoover Dam. The kids favorite part about Las Vegas was seeing the Cirque de Solel show, KA. , a show that transcends place and time, with theatrical landscape, scenic elements and costumes inspired by an array of diverse cultures. Brought to life by 80 artists from around the world, KÀ is a gravity-defying production featuring a powerfully emotive soundtrack that enhances the innovative blend of acrobatic feats, Capoeira dance, puppetry, and projections. The dancers even performed on a stage tilted at a 90º angle. Other sites we visited were: Grauman’s Chinese , Hollywood Walk of Fame , Beverly Hills, Getty Museum and more. It is wonderful to see things from our kids’ perspective. All the years we lived in LA, we found Hollywood to a bit overrated, but my children could not get enough of it, snapping photos of every other Star on the Walk of Fame, scouring for their favorite souvenirs, grabbing ice cream from local vendors, and more.
