For Spring Break, we took our first cruise (well one that lasted more than a day any way), sailing from Port Canaveral to Nassau in the Bahamas and finally to Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. Joined by two other families, it was the perfect vacation (minus getting a wee bit sick on the last night and a few rows with hubby). Because we went with other friends, it made the trip that much more enjoyable—none of the usual whining and “when are we going to get there's” from the kids! We got to take a local tour of the Islands (real local, the guy even took us by his sister's house), checked out the amazing Atlantis, and had an extraordinary time on the ship itself. Adults and kids enjoyed various activities such as jet skiis, paddle bikes, and scuba diving. The kids had so much fun without us adults at times, they kept asking us to drop them off in Disney’s facilitated play areas. We ate incredibly well and enjoyed Disney’s dining experience at all their cool restaurants – Palo, Parrot Key, Titon’s, Animator’s Palate. We even enjoyed the Nicholas Spark’s movie, The Last Song in an IMAX sized theater. Overall, we loved the trip as we have never seen waters and sky so blue; We're thankful for this heaven's oasis on earth.
