Amongst other practice sessions, he had a 7-hour long one on Saturday, followed by a 3-hour one on Sunday. Since we did not get home until late last night (school night!), the poor kid was stressed with all the time he spent at the temple, he ended up waking at 5:30 this morning to get a head start on his homework. His dedication makes me prouder of him than I already am! Now if we could get his dad and mom to be as much so, we're set!

Akshay Danced!
Akshay performed an Indian dance on stage for the first time! The munthir conducted a Bal Parayan (Kids’ Stories and Prayers) this weekend and Akshay along with the other boys did a dance. He also had to recite the Pujan Vidhi, which consisted of different prayers that he had to learn and memorize. That too was a challenge as they were in a language he (nor I) is familiar with!
